Satellite Imagery
What is a satellite imagery report?
FORAGE offers automated web-based delivery of Landsat 5 TM and Landsat 7 ETM+ satellite imagery derived products for locations in Queensland.
What is included?
FORAGE provides four satellite image products:
- Multispectral Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper (TM) and/or Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM+) imagery for specified dates
- Foliage Projective Cover (FPC)
- Seasonal ground cover
- Summary ground cover statistics including 5th, 50th and 95th percentile derived from the entire collections of the ground cover images from 1988 to a year approximately before current year.
The products are based on radiometric and geometrically calibrated sequences of Landsat TM and ETM+ imagery. The primary FPC and ground cover images are produced from regression against a large number of field observations across Queensland and are regularly recalibrated as more field data are collected. FORAGE uses the most recent calibration of the ground cover images to generate the ground cover report.

* GIS application (e.g. ArcGIS or QGIS) is required to read the geoTIFF images correctly. Image may not be displayed correctly if using an incompatible application (e.g. Windows image viewer).
